Where the technical specifications come from

Every electrical, mechanical and environmental figure on this site is transcribed from MEAN WELL's own published documentation — the datasheet, installation manual and certification files for that specific model. Nothing on a product page is our estimate of how a part performs.

Each product records which datasheet revision its figures were taken from, a link to that original document, and the date the transcription was last checked against it. Those three facts are shown in the provenance box at the foot of the product page, so a figure can be traced back to its source without asking us.

Values we reshape rather than restate

Some fields are computed from a published value instead of being read from one. A published input range such as 85 – 264 VAC is split into its two bounds so it can be compared and filtered; a rated power is bucketed into a band such as 200 – 500 W so it can be used as a filter. These are reshapings of what the manufacturer already stated. They introduce no claim the datasheet does not make, and the original string is kept alongside them.

Commercial information is maintained separately

Price, stock position, lead time, packaging quantity and shipping options are ours, not the manufacturer's, and they are stored apart from the technical data. Keeping the two separate is deliberate: it means a change to our stock position can never silently alter a specification, and it makes clear which figures you should hold us to and which ones belong to MEAN WELL.

If a figure is wrong

The manufacturer's current datasheet governs. Where anything on this site disagrees with it, the datasheet is correct and we have made a transcription error. Tell us the part number and the field and we will correct it and re-check the rest of that series; corrections are made against the source document, not against the report.
