DC/AC Modified Sine Wave

Modified sine wave inverters convert a DC source, typically a battery, to an AC output whose waveform is a stepped approximation of a sine wave. They are simpler and generally lower in cost than true sine wave inverters, and suit loads that tolerate the waveform, such as resistive loads and many universal-input electronics.

Confirm that every load you intend to connect will operate correctly on a modified sine wave — motors, audio equipment and some medical or measurement devices may not — then match the DC input voltage to the battery, and the continuous and surge output power to the loads' running and start-up demands.
